It seems like only yesterday, but this was back in 1989. The concept for a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for medical imaging systems was birthed in a conference room in Shelton, CT. That's my chicken scratch on the white board, scanned from some poor quality Polaroid pictures. If you look closely, Action Item #5 is "Propose Power Distribution Source", and some of the notes talk about impedance, intermittant rating, and separate outputs for sensitive loads.
The unit photos are from the PDU-9000, the very first (and now mostly defunct) PDU developed by Teal Electronics for Philips Medical Systems.
